Our Story

Hello, we are the Craft family.  This business was created by mom (Lindsey) but she receives a lot of help from dad (Lee) and the four kiddos - Jimmy (15), Maddie (14), Sammy (12) and Charlie (10)  Before all the children came along, Lindsey earned a degree in Communication Arts, aka, Illustration from Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU). Initially, Lindsey was a freelance illustrator.  After baby #2 arrived,  Lindsey realized the freelance lifestyle did not work for our family.  She created Lindsey's Whimseys to be a business that she could run without destroying the family and even with the family.

As the business has grown, Lee and the kids have become more involved.  They enjoy carrying lumber, sanding wood, weeding vinyl, packing boxes, and dropping packages off. Over the past few years, this has truly become a family business.

Lindsey's Whimseys is about art and design.  We currently specialize in home decor.  We believe a beautiful home helps support the life of a family.  Many but not all of our designs feature Christian themes because Christ is the center of our family.  We seek to honor Him with the products we create and the way we do business.

We focus on using premium, high quality materials.  All of our signs are made with real wood, chalk paint that is light-fast (meaning it won't fade over time) and a protective wax sealer.  We do not use particle board or MDF.  All of our decals are made with premium Oracal 631 Removable Matte Vinyl. All products are designed by Lindsey and are made by us in our home.
